The procedure involves the removal of excess skin from the buttock area.
Liposuction may sometimes be incorporated to further improve body contour.
The procedure involves cutting the skin high up on the side of the thigh and
buttocks, removing excess fat and trimming away the excess skin. The scars are
strategically placed at the waistline or somewhat below depending on personal
preference so that you can wear most swim wear. |

How long does bum/buttock lift surgery take? |

The operation usually takes around 2 hours to complete and normally
involves an overnight stay at one of our hospitals. If it is combined with
other procedures then you will spend more time in theatre. A similar skin and
fat removal procedure may be done for sagging inner thighs to also compliment
this surgery. |

What can I expect from the surgery? |

Your expectations need to be realistic. Most patients are pleased with the
outcome and find they gain a feeling of increased self-confidence and get a
more flattering and toned buttocks and thigh contour. |

What will happen in the recovery period? |

Mild
discomfort and tightness in the buttock area is common for the first 24 to 48
hours. After a couple of days the pain will be resolved significantly and the
tightness will begin to feel normal. Bruising and swelling is present for ten
to fourteen days .You will also wear a supportive compression bandage over the
area to help with the reduction of swelling and tightening of skin. |

What is the recovery time? |
|

Most patients are on their feet in a couple of days, and back to work
within a week or two. More vigorous physical activity should be avoided for
about for 3 to 6 weeks.
